Built For Bond : An Aston Martin documentary on the making of the Spectre’s Bond car

DB10-Built for Bond

50 current and classic Aston Martins gathered in the Great Court at Blenheim Palace for a drive-in premiere of DB10: Built for Bond. The one hour documentary showcases the production of the Bond car, the Aston Martin DB10 created exclusively for the upcoming Bond flick, Spectre.  The DB10 also celebrates Aston Martin’s association of 50 years with James Bond, which started with the iconic DB5 in the 1964 film Goldfinger.

The documentary was created by FIN London and was filmed over a period of 18 months, with over 120 hours of material captured in ultra-high definition 4K. It features interviews with the Aston Martin team responsible for creating the DB10 and also inputs from Spectre Producer Michael G. Wilson, Director Sam Mendes and actor Daniel Craig on their thoughts on the collaboration with Aston Martin. The documentary debuted at the Blenheim Palace which doubled as Palazzo Cadenza of Rome in Daniel Craig’s latest instalment.

The DB10 was made by Aston Martin’s design and engineering teams in just six months. The Bondmobile sports a completely redesigned body shell, the sloping hood and the large front grille seen on the current DB9 are present, but the DB10 looks angry! No official words on what lies under the massive hood, but we can expect Aston Martin’s new 4.0-liter V-8 engine to power the coupe’s 500 hp drive. Geared up with a crisper design, beefy front wheel arches, muscular shoulders and the upgraded Bond-tech, this Bondmobile is set for some serious rear-kickin’!
