The Geneva International Motor show (GIMS) has kicked off with a lot of enthusiasm and is expected to keep the excitement sky-high till it ends. Various automakers have gathered at the venue with their automotive arsenal to leave the visitors enthralled with their unveils, concepts and launches. Indian car makers like Suzuki and Tata also have their booths to put up a grand show in front of international audiences. We have been updating you guys with all the latest happenings from the show.

Volkswagen being one of the biggest show-stoppers at the GIMS, has geared up with an array of vehicles and concepts for the show. Well on the very first day of their presentation, the carmaker brought their updated Volkswagen Up! Beats edition and the all new VW T-Cross in front of the audience. But little did they know that their presence was not appreciated by some.

During the presentation speech by Jurgen Stackmann, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, a man dressed in a VW uniform stormed onto the stage with a spanner and a black box in his hand that read – ‘Cheat Box’. The man was on a mission, he walked his way to the VW Up! and placed the box under it saying that the car needs repairs. He also said, “I have this new cheat box. No one is going to find out about this one!” When Stackmann replied saying, ‘Okay, it doesn’t need repair, it’s a perfect car’ the man protested by saying, “No no no! Mr. Müller said it was okay as long as no one finds out!” Surprisingly the man was identified as British comedian, Simon Brodkin. The comedian has been famous for his similar notorious activities in the past.

We all know in what direction all of his antics was pointed. 2015 was not a great year for Volkswagen and the whole organisation got themselves into a billion dollar trouble – the infamous dieselgate scam. Here is the video of the embarrassing event.
