Breaking: Mahindra recalls XUV500 from 2011-2012 batch for free replacement of certain parts

XUV500 recall

We have been hearing murmurs about some XUV500 customers not being very comfortable with the performance of their Cheetah inspired SUV. It seems Mahindra & Mahindra have managed to find the root cause of their worries and are now recalling certain XUV500 vehicles from the 2011-2012 batch for free replacement of certain parts.

In an official statement, Mahindra & Mahindra today made the announcement. According to the official statement, the decision is in keeping with its customer centric approach as well as in compliance with the recently announced voluntary code on vehicle recall.

Mahindra will carry out replacement of some parts in a select batch of XUV500s manufactured during 2011 & 2012. The parts which would be replaced will include

•    Fluid hose
•    Front power window units
•    Left wiper blade cover

The statement suggests that the replacement would ‘include’ these parts, so we cannot be sure if more parts would be replaced by the company. Customers of the big SUV don’t need to worry about the expenses, as this replacement would be free of cost for XUV500 customers who would be individually contacted by the company.
