It won’t be wrong to say that cosmetically upgraded ‘Sports’ variants and Japanese family sedans go hand in hand. Those with a keen eye on Indian car industry would know that until very recently, Mitsubishi India used to sell the Cedia Sports, which came with stuff like Momo steering wheel, Sparco pedals, OZ alloys, et al. Pretty similar to Mitsubishi India, popular Japanese car maker Honda has launched a new ‘sporty’ variant of its City sedan in Brazilian car market.

Quite obviously, the new variant of the City doesn’t get any mechanical changes and makes do some cosmetic updates to make it more sporty. The car has been optimistically named as the ‘Honda City Sports’ and is based on the entry level City DX.

The City Sports gets mattle black on its front grille and rides on 16-inch alloy wheels that come from the top-of-the-line variant. At the rear, the City gets chrome on its exhaust tip.

On the inside, the car comes with dual tone black-silver upholstery and sports pedals.
Safety features on the car include Dual SRS airbags at front and ABS+EBD equipped disc brakes on all four wheels.

The City Sports will be on sale with following color options-

  • Red Rally Solid
  • Silver
  • White
  • Black
  • Palladium Gray
  • Irridium Gray.

The City Sports goes on sale with a price tag of 56,470 Brazilian Reals (approx INR 15 lakhs). Tell us, do you want Honda to launch the City Sports in India?

  1. That sounds like City V (MT) with few more add-ons. It will be good if they do not charge too much, somewhere in between S and V model.
