BMW X4 to debut at 2013 Detroit Motor Show

Come 2014 and BMW’s X series of vehicles will see one more member. As the name suggests, the X4 will be slotted in between the X3 and X5 and will be seen battling it out with the upcoming Merc GLK, Audi Q6 and Porsche Macan. There have been a few reports on the web world that have previously stated that the BMW X4 might get a two-door+hatch body style. However, the Munich based manufacturer has zeroed in on a four-door configuration. Explaining this, a source has commented,’Because marketing pegs bigger volumes on the four-door, and because production saves a chunk of money by retaining the lower inner and outer side panels as well as the lower door skins.’

A tapering roof and greenhouse will ensure that the baby X6 has a sporty ‘coupe-like’ look. Frank-Peter Arndt, BMW’s board member in charge of production, has said that the all new X4 will be built at Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina, USA. The Munich based car maker will be seen investing a whopping $900 million in Spartangburg between now and 2014 and can it be a coincidence that the plan neatly coinciding with the introduction of the X4 in a couple of years from now?

We expect the BMW X4 Concept to debut at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show that begins in Mid-January next month. The details of the X4 should become a lot more clearer with the unveiling of the X4 Concept. Stay tuned folks.

  1. Hey there, You have done an incredible job. I will certainly digg it and for my part recommend to my friends. I am sure they'll be benefited from this website.

  2. The roadster edition is indeed kick ass. But the price tag of $196,000 is galactic. Even the rich and the famous has to think twice before going for it. The headlights as always is my fav part.
