Along with the face-lifted 1 Series, the BMW X1 M Sport has been launched in India, with prices starting from INR 37.9 lakhs (ex-showroom Thane). The X1 sDrive20d M Sport is now the only variant of the X1 crossover available in India, and is the final update given to the current generation model before an all-new one arrives in India next year. The X1 M Sport is offered with two colour options – Alpine White and Le Mans Blue.
On the outside, the M Sport kit adds revised bumpers, skirts and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there’s a M Sport specific, leather wrapped steering wheel and other subtle touches. M-Sport kit notwithstanding, the X1 is powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine, good for 184 PS of power and 380 Nm peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
This is BMW India’s third M Sport kitted model, the first two being the 530d and X3, both offered in M Sport guise.
