BMW Motorrad F850 GS Adventure Launched At INR 15,40,000

Joining the huge range of adventure tourers in the Indian market, BMW’s latest offering, the F 850 GS Pro has been launched today with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 15.40 Lakh. For that amount of money, you get a solid set of 2 wheels from Germany, which can tackle long highways as well as off-road trails. This newly launched bike would be competing against the likes of the Japanese Honda Africa Twin and the English Triumph Tiger, in its top of the line, XCA trim. The BMW, in the Style Rallye variant, has some significant advantages over its competition, making it a credible competitor of these two machines.

Powering this brand new motorcycle is a water-cooled, DOHC, 853 cc in-line twin motor, tuned to generate 94 hp of peak power at 8,000 rpm while the peak torque of 86 Nm is delivered at 6,250 rpm. With this power, the engine can propel this 244 kg motorcycle to a top speed of 197 kmph. In typical adventure tourer fashion, the motorcycle comes with spoked wheels, measuring 21 inches in the front and 17 inches at the rear. The front wheel is wrapped in a 90/90 section tyre while a 150/70 section tyre does duty at the rear. Making sure the journey never ends, the bike also offers a rather large 23-litre fuel tank.

The BMW comes with a number of electronic aids to help the rider. This includes two riding modes – Rain and Road. stability control and ABS pro are also part of standard equipment in this motorcycle. The bike comes with a new instrument cluster design, consisting of an analogue tachometer and a multifunctional display, alongside a number of control lamps. Fast and clear information is available with the optional equipment known as Connectivity, with a 6.5inch full-colour TFT display. Integrating operation via the BMW Motorrad multi-controller, it gives the rider quick access to vehicle and connectivity functions. Phone and media functions can be used without having to install an app.
