The new BMW M4 Competition Sport Edition has been launched in Spain. Exclusive to the country, only 60 units of the special edition will be rolled out. The new sporty trim will be positioned above the BMW M4 Coupe and below the staggering 2016 BMW M4 GTS and will sell with a price tag of a whopping 1,32,900 Euros (approx. INR 1 crore).
The new M4 Competition Sport Edition is kitted with BMW M performance parts and features a splitter on the front bumper and a rear spoiler, both crafted out of CFRP (carbon fiber). The mirror housings are designed in CFRP as well.
The trademark kidney grille, side moldings, both tailpipes and rear anagram ‘M4’ are done in a glossy black finish. It drives on 20-inchers fitted at all four corners, and the wheels are wrapped with high-performance 265/30 R20 tyres at the front and 285/30 R20 tyres at the rear. The stopping power is granted by a carbon-ceramic brake that has an improved fatigue resistance as compared to conventional high-performance discs.
The interiors feature a host of features to compliment the performance character. Each car will be properly numbered as part of a unique and unrepeatable collection BMW M4 family. In addition to this identification, the customer will receive a keychain to highlight the new BMW M4 Competition Sport Edition insignia.
Inside the vehicle, there are newly designed seats; seat belts include a thin tri-band, flag and hallmark of BMW M. The new BMW M4 Competition Sport Edition will be offered only in three liveries – Brilliant White, San Marino Blue, and Jerez Black. All the three will feature the BMW Individual interior collection.
Powering the BMW M4 Competition Sport Edition is a 3.0L TwinPower turbo engine with six-cylinders that is borrowed from the M4 Coupe. The unit is tweaked to fire out a max power of 450 hp at 7,000 rpm and 550 Nm of torque between 1850-5500 rpm. This edition will be available only with 7-speed dual-clutch Drivelogic M DKG automatic transmission.
With all that power under its hood the Competition Sport edition can do a top speed of 280kmph and complete the 0-100kmph phenomenon in 4 seconds.
