In May, BMW India launched the new BMW X5 in India. According to a report, BMW India will be launching the 5 seater X5 soon. The X5 currently on sale in India features a 7 seat arrangement in 2+3+2 configuration. Akin to the 7 seater model, the 5 seater model will also be assembled at the Chennai plant.

With the deletion of two seats, the model will also be skip on some bells n whistles. Other than the aforementioned changes, the 5 seater X5 will be similar to the 7 seat version.
Powering the 5 seater model will be the same 3.0 liter turbo-charged 6 pot oil burner which churns out 258 bhp of max power and 560 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission. The power will be sent to all the wheels.
The new BMW X5 is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in the following five metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect, Space Grey and Sparkling Brown.
BMW India has already sold out the 7 seat version of the X5 in India for this year. The 5 seater X5 will be about INR 4 lakh lighter on the pocket compared to 7 seat model. It is expected the model will be priced at an ex-showroom price of about INR 66-67 lakh.
