BMW i8 Rendered as a Sedan by Theophilus Chin

After the Hyundai i20 and the Skoda Fabia, the latest car to be imagined as a sedan by designer Theophilus Chin is the flagship BMW product- i8.

Christened as the i8L, Theophilus says that the virtual electric vehicle could be introduced by the Bavarian brand as a rival for the four-seat Volkswagen XL2, which was also a digital project by him.

Chin explains the rear “suicide” doors are inspired from the i3 and have the same configuration with a lower rear window line. Currently there are no reports which suggest BMW might have plans to build a four door i8.

Although there will be no four door i8, BMW will be launching the i8 Spyder next year. Powering the i8 Spyder will be the same 1.5 liter twin turbo three pot motor, which develops 231 HP and 320 NM of torque. Backing up the petrol engine is an electrical motor which gives the car an extra 131 HP and 320 NM of torque. The petrol motor in combination with the electric motor, produces a maximum output of 362 HP and 570 NM of torque. BMW is also working on a i9 range-topping model. M GmbH officials have already reconfirmed that there aren’t any plans for a i8 M version.
