The BMW i8 was introduced in India this month at a price tag of INR 2.29 crore (Ex-showroom). Now, a rendering of the BMW i8 as a racing car has surfaced on the internet. Independent digital artist Jon Sibal has creat a virtual project for a racing car based on the BMW i8.
The i8 seen here in this image sports a wide body kit with heavily modified front bumper with integrated carbon fiber lip. On the side profile, one can notice the race car has been equipped with new side sills. On the rear section, the car has received a new massive wing.
Powering the road legal BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid system that includes a 1.5-liter 3-pot petrol engine and an electric motor. The TwinPower Turbo unit generates 231 ponies and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft), while the electric motor adds 131 ponies. The power is channeled to the front wheels via a two-stage automatic gearbox. The combined output stands at 362 HP and 570 Nm of torque.
