The current BMW 5 Series was launched in India long back in 2010. The facelifted model is already on sale in some markets. With Mercedes launching the E-class facelift recently, it surely helped them garner sales and gain the first spot in terms of sales last month.

The facelifted 5’er receives minor updates. The 2014 5-Series will sport-

> A new front bumper.

> Tweaked air intakes.

> Optional adaptive LED headlamps.

> LED turn indicators integrated into the wing mirrors.

> New tail lamps.

> New alloy wheels.

> A refreshed rear bumper.

Interior changes include a new infotainment console with touchscreen, via the optional touch iDrive.

Optional equipment list on the facelifted 5-Series sedan includes the access system already seen on the F30 3-Series, which allows one to open the boot by placing one’s foot under the rear bumper. The 5-Series LCI also receives a fuel saving technology which is named as the  “coasting mode” . Under the hood, the facelifted 5’er sedan will be offered with the same 2.0 and 3.0 liter turbo diesel engines, and 2.0 and 3.0 litre naturally aspirated and turbo petrol engines respectively.

Expect an increase in the pricing. The launch event will also be telecasted live at www.bmw.in/press from 12.15 PM today.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for the launch report and  pricing details of the facelifted BMW 5-Series sedan.
