BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe Rendered Based on Patent Drawings

Only yesterday we brought you the leaked patent images of the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe. Now, the good folks at Autofans.be have rendered the 4-Series Gran Coupe from the leaked patent images.

BMW will showcase the new F36 4-Series gran Coupe at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March next year, and the car will be launched later in the month of June. After the 4 series coupe and convertible, the Gran Coupe will be the third model to join the BMW 4 series family.

As seen in the pics, the Gran Coupe will come with a slightly longer wheelbase, compared to the normal 4-Series. The increased wheelbase will provide better entry to the rear seats and a better legroom. The F36 BMW Gran Coupe is just four centimeters longer than the 4 Series Coupe and has a height of 1.4 meters. As can be seen in the pic, the four-door 4 Series Gran Coupe will have a longer rear window and a quarter window that flows into a conventional boot. This design feature visually increases the side dimensions of the car.

Speaking about the powertrain, the Gran Coupe will be equipped with the same engines available in the 4Series Coupe- 3.0-liter six-cylinder developing 300 bhp and a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine developing 240 bhp.

The 4-Series Gran Coupe will be available in four variants- 420i, 420d, 428i and 435i. The United States will receive only the 428i and 435i variants of the Gran Coupe.
