Bike sales November 2014: Royal Enfield records 52 percent growth in overall sales

Royal Enfield to enter Latin America and South East Asia

Continuing its strong sales momentum in 2014, Royal Enfield recorded sales of 27,542 units in combined domestic wholesale and exports in the month of November 2014, recording a growth of 52% over same period last year. Domestic sales stood at 27,198 units as against 17,752 in November last year marking a growth of 53 percent. The export sales though came down to 344 units as against 379 units in November 2013 resulting in a down fall of 9 percent.

The year-to-date numbers too showcased very positive figures. The year-to-date domestic sales figure stood at 268,191 units as against 154,797 units during the same period last year. The export sales for the same period also stood at 5,766 units against 4,011 units marking a growth of 44 percent. The overall year-to-date sales grew by 73 percent.

Royal Enfield also announced two new appointments in month of November, 2014. Prolific industrial designer for motorcycles – Pierre Terblanche joined Royal Enfield in November. He is best known for having created some extra-ordinary motorcycles as the head of design for Ducati for over a decade. Along with Pierre, Royal Enfield announced the appointment of James Young who has previously worked with Triumph and Polaris and has created many award winning motorcycles. Earlier this year, industry veteran Rod Copes was appointed as the President, North America for Royal Enfield.
