Benelli Tornado 302 launch scheduled to take place during the festive season

DSK Benelli, the Indian arm of the Italian motorcycle brand, seems to be ready to launch the Tornado 302 later this year. According to reports, the faired sibling of the TNT300 is scheduled to be launched during the upcoming festive season. The motorcycle was unveiled at the 2015 EICMA Motor Show held in Milan.

Speaking to a publication, Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels, said that they plan to launch the Tornado 302 by Diwali. The components for the same have been cleared while the homologation process is currently underway. The deliveries for the fully faired 300cc motorcycle will begin around the month of October or November.

Currently believed to be under the homologation stage, the Tornado 302 is powered by a 300cc inline twin cylinder four stroke liquid cooled motor tuned to produce a maximum power output of 35.3 PS while the peak torque is rated at 27 Nm. This motor comes mated to a six speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheel. The motorcycle will come equipped with ABS although it remains unknown whether it will be a standard feature.

Once launched, the Benelli Tornado 302 will take on the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Yamaha R3. Expect the model to arrive via the CKD route with a price tag of approximately Rs. 3.15 lakh – 3.20 lakh (Ex-Showroom). The model will be assembled at the company’s Talegaon facility near Pune.
