Bajaj’s motorcycle sales for October fall by 3 percent

Bajaj Auto’s motorcycle segment witnessed lacklustre sales numbers for October 2014 despite the festive season. The motorcycle business saw a downfall of nearly 3 percent as the total number of motorcycles sold for the month of October 2014 stood at 336,923 units as against 348,323 units for the same period last year.

The commercial vehicle business on the other hand saw a rise in sales by 33 percent. The total number of commercial vehicles sold in October 2014 stood at 49,094 units as against 37,000 units during same period last year. Exports too showcased positive numbers as the sales numbers stood at 158,547 units versus 138,022 units marking a rise of 15 percent.

The year to date figures also showed positive momentum. Bajaj’s motorcycle segment managed to sell 2,110,934 units from April to October 2014 versus 2,057,764 units during same period last year. Commercial vehicles business sold 319,095 units from April to October 2014 as against 268,164 units during the same period last year.
