Till now, we have spotted the Bajaj Avenger 220 Street and the Avenger 220 Cruise. Both the motorcycles were snapped at Bajaj’s Chakan plant in Pune. However, the folks at AutoCar India have just reported that the new Bajaj Avenger will also be available with a 150cc power plant and will be launched by the end of this month. There is, however, no official announcement from the two-wheeler manufacturer about the topic yet.
The motorcycles, that were rumoured to debut in the first week of October, are yet to be officially launched. While the details are scarce and there is no word about the technical specifications, we expect the smallest of new Avengers to be powered by the same 4-stroke, DTS-i, air cooled, single cylinder 149cc motor that propels the the Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-i. Performance figures are likely to remain unchanged and the new Avenger 150 should dish out 15.06 PS of power and 12.5Nm of torque from the 149cc engine.
The new Avenger 150 will address to the needs of urban motorcyclists who desire the comfort and style of a cruiser, without having to pay a hefty premium for it. There are no direct competitors to the Avenger 150 until United Motorcycles come up with their cruiser motorcycle – whenever that happens. While the festive season has already begun, there is still no word about the new Bajaj Avenger series, though we hope to see it any time now.
