Update: Bajaj Auto has issued a statement confirming that the Dominar 400 Non-ABS variant has not been discontinued and is currently available exclusively in the matte black paintjob.
Reports suggest that Bajaj Auto plans to discontinue the non ABS variant of its most powerful product till date, the Dominar 400. It is believed that this variant of the Dominar 400 is being discontinued here in India due to the lack of demand in the market.
Bajaj Auto has revealed that 80% of the sales of the Dominar 400 is for the ABS equipped variant while just 20% of buyers opt for the non-ABS variant of the motorcycle. With the non ABS variant no longer on sale, prices for the Bajaj Dominar 400 will start at INR 1.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The non ABS variant of the Dominar 400 was available with a price tag starting at INR 1.36 lakh when it was launched back in December 2016. The model recently received an update in the form of new paint job options in 2018.
Powering the Bajaj Dominar 400 is a KTM sourced 373cc liquid cooled, fuel injected, triple spark, single cylinder engine. This motor is capable of producing 34 hp at 8000rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. This engine is paired to a six speed gearbox.
Features on the Dominar 400 include full LED headlamps, LED tail lights, LED turn indicators, fully digital yet split LCD instrument console, 43 mm telescopic suspension at the front and an adjustable mono shock unit at the rear. Bajaj Auto recently launched the second part of its ‘Haathi Mat Paalo’ campaign, which takes a dig at one of the brand’s main rivals.
