Tata Motors, in partnership with Jayem Automotives showcased a performance oriented Bolt hatchback at the Auto Expo 2016. The Sporty Performance Hatch, as it’s being called, is powered by a modified version of the Revotron 1.2-litre, turbocharged MPFi petrol engine already found under the hood of the standard car. It provides an enhanced power of 110 PS @ 5300 – 5500 RPM with maximum torque of 170 Nm @ 3000 – 3800 RPM, delivering 0 to 100 km/h within 12 seconds in the Bolt Sport.
Power is sent to front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The performance calibrated electric power assisted steering with brushless motor is said to be more precise. Furthermore, it features a modified exhaust system for improved performance, while the car is equipped with performance suspension using retuned springs and dampers.
The performance oriented styling kit features a new front grille with air dam, new, aggressive front and rear bumpers, air vents on fender, along with 17 inch alloy wheels. The interior of the Sporty Performance Hatch comes adorned with sporty pedals, inserts with body coloured embellishments, sporty black leather seats with red detail and contrast` stitching along with leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob with stitch details.
