Auto Expo 2018: Cleveland Misfit Is The New Retro-Cool Cafe Racer In Town

Cleveland CycleWerks, a niche American bike manufacturer has set foot in India and the Misfit is the first model to be offered by the brand. The Misfit has been designed as a café racer with styling that lends the bike a very retro, 90s feel.

The Misfit gets a traditional tubular double cradle chassis with contrasting golden up-side down forks up front. The forks get 38mm cartridge type damping and shim stack valves. The rear gets twin-hydraulic shock absorbers which are adjustable for pre-load.

The Misfit is powered by a 229cc single cylinder air-cooled engine that belts out 15.4 HP and 16 Nm peak torque which is transmitted through a 5-speed multi-plate clutch to the rear wheel.

The bike comes shod with high-profile 18 inch rubber on both ends with retro steel rim spoke wheels. This is paired with a 320mm 4 piston disk brake up front and a 220mm single piston disk at the back.

The instrumentation cluster is minimal with chromed-out twin speedo and tacho dials with a digital odometer. Cleveland has partnered with Hyderabad based Laish-Madison Motor Werks, and is in the process of setting up a plant here. Expect the bike to hit the market sometime later this year.
