The Mahindra KUV100 Xplorer edition was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The Xplorer moniker calls for generous amounts of silvery bumper and sill extensions. Apart from that, the front grille gets some chrome detailing, the bonnet adds a couple of faux scoops, the doors get prominent side mouldings and the wheel arch trim grows with integrated reflectors. The roof of the KUV100 Xplorer edition is finished in gloss black, and even sports roof rails that reflect the design of the sill extensions. At the back, there are tail lamp protectors and a new rear spoiler with a LED stop lamp.
Built on a newly developed monocoque platform, the KUV100 is powered by two fresh engines from Mahindra’s new mFalcon family – a 1.2-litre, dual VVT petrol motor dubbed the mFalcon80, good for 82 bhp @ 5500 rom and 114 Nm of torque available between 3500-3600 rpm, along with a 1.2-litre, turbo-charged diesel motor called the mFalcon75, which will develop 77 bhp @ 3750 rpm and 190 Nm of torque available between 1750-2250 rpm. Both are strapped to 5-speed manual transmissions. Prices for the KUV 100 petrol start at INR 4.42 lakh, while the KUV 100 diesel starts at INR 5.22 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
