Only yesterday we reported about how Audi plans to overtake BMW in 2020 and become the largest selling luxury car maker in the world. The Audi vs BMW vs Mercedes war has been raging since time immemorial and it has now emerged that Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche too plans to see Mercedes-Benz on top by 2020.
Zetsche recently spoke about his plans in an interview to a German newspaper. He feels that the carmaker was overtaken by BMW and Audi because it couldn’t come up with new cars and focus on developing markets like that of India.
However, Mercedes off late has been developing new entry level luxury cars such as the much publicized CLA sedan, GLA SUV and mini G Wagon for emerging car markets.
It is already being said by industry experts that Mercedes will overtake Audi and take the number 2 spot below BMW in 2013.
