Audi India, the Indian subsidiary of VW owned German premium car maker Audi, will soon launch the S6, which is the top of the line, performance-oriented variant of the A6 executive sedan. The Audi S6 is being expected to arrive by April this year. The news comes straight from Mr. Michael Perschke, Managing Director, Audi India in an interview with Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, host of the Car & Bike Show.

The Audi S6 will come to us via Completely Built Unit (CBU) route and will become the most powerful variant of A6 on sale at the country. Powering the car is a 4.0 Litre, Twin-Turbocharged, TFSI (Turbocharged Fuel Stratified Injection), V8 Petrol Engine that has a max power output of 420 PS and a peak torque of 550 Nm. This motor is mated to a 7-Speed S-Tronic, Dual-Clutch Automatic Gearbox which transmits the power to all four wheels via Quattro All Wheel Drive System.

Also headed our way is the Audi RS5 facelift which has a slightly updated exterior and interior. The changes to the car include a new Hexagonal, Single Frame Audi Grille, Revised Signature Audi Daytime Running Lamps (DRL’s) and new all-LED tail lamps.

Powering the updated car is the same 4.2 Litre, Naturally Aspirated, FSI (Fuel Stratified Injection), V8 Petrol Engine which powers the outgoing model. The engine has a max power output of 450 PS and a peak torque of 430Nm.

Mr. Perschke revealed that Audi India has quite a few new car launches lined up for 2013 and it will be interesting to see if Audi overtakes BMW in luxury car sales in Indian market this year. .
