Audi, in its recent press release, has announced that the 2015 R8 will get a performance package option. However, the company has declined from giving any timeline in terms of the release date. The new Audi R8 will release in the United States this summer.
In its press release, Audi said, “The 2015 R8 V10 S tronic model will have a new sport exhaust option. The R8 model line will also feature a new Limited Edition performance package that will be communicated at a later date.”
The 2015 Audi R8 offers new exterior paint color options and available painted red brake calipers, new Quilted Leather package in Silver, and a new diamond-stitched Alcantara headliner.
The Audi R8 is offered in three engine configurations. The high-revving 4.2-liter FSI V8 makes 430 hp and 316 lb-ft of torque. The 5.2-liter FSI V10 churns out 525 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. And the highly-tuned 5.2 liter FSI V10 plus engine, produces 550 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. We expect that the specifications would remain the same on 2015 model as well. However, the performance package will boost these numbers to new limits.
Audi also released pricing and model year changes for its entire lineup in the United States. The changes are limited and include additional standard equipment, revised color palettes and a handful of new styling packages.
The German manufacturer said that in the 2015 model year vehicles, more features become standard across the model lineup. Technology packages, including Head-up display — are now standard on more Audi models than ever before.
