As per many reports that have surfaced on the cyber space, VW Group owned premium auto maker Audi is planning to come up with a new sports car that would be positioned below the TT.
Details on this upcoming sportscar are scarce but it is being said that the upcoming car will be based on the next-generation Volkswagen Polo. Apart from this small piece of info, little else is known about this upcoming model. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, head of development at Audi, has been quoted as having said,“The TT is the most sporty car on the MQB [platform] … but [we] will also have MQB Zero – [the] next-gen Polo. Based on this sub matrix system I can imagine a smaller car.” Hackenberg went on to say “I think something more sporty is possible to run in the zero segment.”
Hackenberg has also said that the production spec Sport Quattro concept would be more of a gran tourer than an all out sports car.
