Now, in what seems to be a bid to fend off the competition from the newly launched Merc, arch rival Audi India has come up with a new variant of its A4 entry level premium sedan.
Christened as the new A4 ‘Celebration Edition’, the new variant actually misses out on a few features but comes with a more attractive price tag.
The new Audi A4 Celebration Edition can be bought only in white exterior paint shade and yes, like most of such models, will be built in only limited numbers. Features that it misses out on are-
- Sunroof
- 17-inch alloy wheels (the A4 Celebration Edition comes with 16 inch-ers
- Cruise control
- Wood trimmed dashboard
- Power folding wing mirrors
- Electric adjustment for front passenger seat
Powering the latest cut price A4 variant is a de-tuned version of the 2.0-liter TDI engine. This motor has a max power of 143 bhp and peak torque of 320 Nm. Car aficionados and especially Audi loves would realize that this is the same motor that also powers the bargain basement Q3 Sports.
Audi claims that the A4 Celebration Edition can dismiss 100kmph from standstill in just 9.1 seconds and have a top whack of 210 kmph, along with offering a max Fuel Efficiency of 16.55 kmpl. The motor comes attached to a CVT that transmits all the power to the front wheels.
The new Audi A4 Celebration Edition goes on sale for a price of INR 25.99 lakhs (ex-Showroom, pan India).
