In the past few years, MG Motors have successfully made its mark in the Indian Automobile Industry by introducing various models like Hector, ZS EV, Gloster, and Astor. Recently, MG has revealed the exteriors of their smallest EV car, the Comet. And now, the manufacturer has unveiled the interiors of their Comet EV.
Interiors of MG Comet
Recently, MG has provided a sneak peek at the interiors of their smallest EV car. From the images, it seems evident that MG Comet might get dual-tone black-and-white theme interiors. The EV will feature a 2-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. The design and layout of round buttons are inspired by the Apple i-pod. The audio, navigation, voice commands and MID can be controlled via these buttons. The simple 2-spoke steering wheel complements the minimalist theme of the interior.
The dash also sports the twin-screen set-up each of size 10.25-inch. The screen behind the steering wheels is for the fully digital instrument cluster. The Comet EV also boasts a floating-type Infotainment system with the latest connectivity features. Below the infotainment screen are the twin-horizontal laid-out AC vents and rotary AC controls with chrome surrounds. MG Comet is expected to get modern features like an electric parking brake, hill assist, driving modes, keyless entry, and ignition.
About the Powertrain Options
The new MG Comet EV is expected to be powered by a Tata-sourced 20kWh battery pack. The rear axle-mounted electric motor of the new Comet EV will belt out approx. 40-50hp of power output. MG Comet is expected to have a claimed range of up to 250kms on a single charge.
About Pricing and Launch Timeline
MG Comet is expected to be launched by the next month in May 2023. As the second electric vehicle from MG, the Comet is expected to be priced between Rs 10-12 lakh. This pricing puts the MG Comet in direct competition with the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3.
