For adventure seekers on two wheels- the Yamaha Super Tenere has to be one of the few machines that shoot up the desire quotient. And with the 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere Worldcrosser, the Japanese manufacturer has ensured to raise the desirability factor of their flagship adventure bike one notch higher. Well, it isn’t a new bike by any means- it still is the same Yamaha Super Tenere being enhanced with adventure paraphernalia for an improved riding experience.
To start with, the 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere Worldcrosser gets a visual upgrade with carbon fibre side panels with aluminium mesh protectors. The plastic fork protectors and the frame protectors have also been replaced by carbon fibre material. A new sticker and protection pads on the tank recesses have been added towards enhanced grip and control for the rider.
The 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere Worldcrosser also gets added protection while embarking upon daunting terrain by way of a drive shaft shield, a skid plate and a rear brake protector constructed out of anodized aluminium. Yamaha is also offering other bits such as fog lamps, engine guards, luggage kits and an Akrapovic exhaust. Also on offer is the XT1200ZE version which comes with electronically adjustable suspensions, heated grips, topcase racks etc.
The motorcycle continues to be powered by the liquid-cooled 1199cc parallel twin engine producing power and torque figures of 112 hp @ 7250 rpm and 117 Nm @ 6000 rpm respectively. The 2015 Yamaha Super Tenere Worldcrosser can be bought as a package from a Yamaha dealership and existing Super Tenere owners can get the goodies installed at the dealers end- now that’s good news.
