A ‘Promising’ Future up ahead for Skoda Auto

World over, Czech car maker Skoda is known for being the budget brand of the Volkswagen Group. It may be noted that the Skoda cars generally cater to the entry level segments in international markets and are usually based on older VW cars. While Skoda Auto cars have really come of age and can give a run for their money to most of the Japanese and Korean rivals, Skoda cars will continue to be positioned lower than their VW counterparts in future.

In India though, Skoda got the first mover advantage and established itself as a luxury car brand. It’s a different story that VW India plans to have all this changed.

Skoda Autos posted a sales growth of 7% over last year and has high hopes from its Octavia/Laura and Fabia brand of cars. Skoda will come up with a facility in the rapidly growing Indian car market for the development of future low-cost platforms and engines.

We have already been reporting in detail about the recently unveiled 2013 Skoda Octavia/Laura and we should soon see the Yeti facelift out in its full glory. With the new Octavia Combi, Fabia and Roomster planned for near future, the upcoming time indeed looks promising for the Czech automaker.
