3rd Gen Of The Renault Duster To Debut By Nov’25

The Duster SUV will once again be offered by Renault in the Indian market. Renault’s position in India was solidified by the Duster, although last year the company made the decision to discontinue production of the mid-sized SUV.

4 New SUVs To Be Launched

But now, the alliance partners recently announced huge investments in India. And with the commitment of 600 million dollars as a part of Renault Nissan’s next investment phase, we know that work on the development of a new Duster is on. Apart from the Duster, the alliance is also working on a separate 3-row SUV based on the Duster.

Both these SUVs will have their Nissan counterparts. This means that the alliance is working on a total of 4 new SUVs for the Indian market.

Details

The four models, codenamed P1311-R & P1311-N, P1312-R & P1312-N, are said to be B+ and C segment models based on the brand’s CMF-B platform. The new SUVs will most likely be powered by a petrol engine, and there are no plans for diesel and hybrid powertrains as of now. Renault Nissan anticipate a combined volume of 1.5 lakh units per year between all four vehicles by 2026 – for both the domestic and foreign markets.

While the India-spec Duster was built on the B0-platform, the 3rd gen of the Duster will be based on the CMF-B platform. The 3rd gen Duster is expected to retain its rugged design with body cladding and accentuated wheel arches. In terms of dimensions, it is likely to measure well over 4.3 metres and offer a class-leading wheelbase.

3rd Gen Duster Spied Testing

Dacia Bigster Concept SUV

A camouflaged test mule of the 3rd gen Duster has also been spotted during road tests and despite the thick camouflage, a few similarities to the Dacia Bigster concept are visible. The SUV will have an upright grille, a flat front with sleek LED headlights, Y-shaped tail lamps, squarish wheel arches, pull-type front door handles with the rear door handles situated on the C-pillar, and a spoiler that looks similar to the Kiger.

The Dacia Bigster, which debuted in January 2021, is a Concept SUV showcased by Renault’s Romanian subsidiary, Dacia.

According to the spy shots, the tailgate section & design of the rear bumper will be largely similar to the Dacia Bigster concept. This means that overall, the new Renault Duster will continue to carry forward its boxy, muscular design.
