Land Rover India has declared a price cut for the 2024 Range Rover Velar by Rs 6.4 lakh.
The luxury SUV, available in a single trim with both petrol and diesel powertrain options, now boasts a more accessible price of Rs 87.9 lakh, ex-showroom.
This marks a substantial reduction of Rs 6.4 lakh from its launch price of Rs 93 lakh in July last year.
The Price Journey
Upon its debut in July 2023, the SUV hit the market with a price tag of Rs 93 lakh. Towards the end of the year, a price hike increased it up to Rs 94.3 lakh.
However, in a surprising move, Land Rover has now brought the price back down to Rs 87.9 lakh in February 2024.
Exterior Facelift
The 2024 Range Rover Velar showcases some notable aesthetic upgrades. A new lighting signature, coupled with a pixel LED setup in the front and a fresh tail-light design at the rear, distinguishes it from its predecessor.
Interior Design
The most significant changes, however, are found inside the Velar’s cabin. Land Rover has embraced a new minimalist approach, bidding farewell to physical touch buttons for climate control.
Instead, all controls now reside in a sleek 11.4-inch curved infotainment screen, adding a touch of modern elegance to the interior.

The Velar doesn’t just impress with its looks; it’s loaded with features. From a 360-degree camera with an under-bonnet view to 20-way massage front seats, a power recline for the rear seats, an air purifier, wireless charging, a Meridian sound system, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, and four-zone climate control – leaving no stone unturned by this luxurious SUV.
Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Range Rover Velar offers a choice between a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 250hp and 365Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel engine paired with a mild-hybrid system, delivering a total of 204hp and 430Nm.
Both engines feature all-wheel-drive and are coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Performance on Tap
Performance-wise, the petrol Velar can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in a swift 7.5 seconds, while its diesel counterpart achieves the same feat in 8.3 seconds.

At its new price point, the Range Rover Velar competes with some formidable rivals, including the Mercedes-Benz GLE (Rs 96.4 lakh), BMW X5 (Rs 96 lakh), Porsche Macan (Rs 88.06 lakh), and Jaguar F-Pace (Rs 72.9 lakh).
