Here is yet another reveal by Team Green! India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd. (IKM) has announced the launch of MY22L KLX450R at a starting price of INR 8,99,000/- (Ex-Showroom) and it is exclusively available in “Lime Green” colour shade. The bike will go on sale in January 2022. Kawasaki has had a wonderful year with lots of new arrivals like the Ninja H2, the Z650 RS, and many more. The company is aiming at finishing the year with a gift for all its fans, and the new KLX450R is the way to go.
What’s new?
The 450R is the flagship motorcycle of the KLX family and is a purpose-built off-road race machine. The bike possesses both power and grace, which makes it able enough to handle the toughest of terrains. In this new model, the same engine has been tweaked to produce more low-end torque. This powerhouse is now mated to a wide-ratio 5-Speed transmission. The suspension is also tuned to take the beat of bad roads, to minimize rider fatigue.
The bike is powered by the same 449cc, Liquid Cooled, 4-stroke Single-Cylinder engine with DOHC. The 5-Speed gearbox now gets wider ratios. It is sprung on a 48mm inverted AOS type telescopic fork with 22-way compression and 18-way rebound damping with a 305mm travel at the front. The rear is taken care of by Uni-Trak with 22-way low-speed, 2 turns or more high-speed compression damping, 22-way rebound damping, and adjustable spring preload with a 315mm travel. The braking duties are performed by a Single semi-floating 250mm petal disc with a dual-piston calliper at the front, and a single 240mm petal disc with a single-piston calliper at the rear. The tank has a capacity of 8-litres. It has a ground clearance of 315mm and a seat height of 935mm.
It has a lightweight aluminium perimeter frame for better control of the bike. The skid plates are also aluminium and it has a Renthal aluminium Fatbar as well. It also gets a side stand as standard equipment. This bike also gets an electric starter. The design is very minimalistic, which can be seen by the compact and energy-efficient tail lamp. The instrument cluster on this bike is a digital unit with a lightweight and compact layout. The curb weight of the bike is just 126Kg.
