Petrolheads surely have a few reasons to cheer about in this festive season as a few automotive companies have announced new models arriving in India soon. As we wait for Volkswagen India to confirm the launch details of the 192 PS Polo GTI, Japanese manufacturer Nissan has announced a new arrival before the end of the year.

Nissan India has announced that the 2017 GT-R sports car will be launched in the country on December 2, 2016. The news comes about a fortnight after spy images revealed the upcoming GT-R at a local dealership. Bookings for the model began in September for an amount of INR 25 lakh and it is believed that the first GT-R in the country will be owned by Bollywood actor John Abraham, who is also the brand ambassador for the Nissan.
Propelling the Godzilla would be the 3.8-litre turbocharged V6 petrol motor that is tuned to produce 570 PS of power and 637 Nm of torque. Transmission duties on the GT-R will be taken care of by a six speed dual clutch automatic transmission. This powertain will enable the model to sprint from 0-100 kmph in less than three seconds.

Expect the 2017 Nissan GT-R, which is the flagship of the brand, to arrive with a price tag of about INR 2 crore. The model will initially be sold in Delhi while test drives will be held at the Buddh International Circuit.
