Enough has already been speculated about the upcoming, next generation, 2016 Mercedes E Class. Now, speculative renderings of the next gen E Class have surfaced on the cyber space and these renders reflect the change in design language the upcomign model would carry.

The design language that will be followed for the next E Class will make its public debut at the upcoming 2014 Geneva Motor Show next month and these renderints hint that exterior design of the next gen car would be rather evolutionary than revolutionary. As per these renders, the front end of the car would feature sleek headlamps, a daunting grille and well sculptured bumper. At the rear, the car is likely to get a sleeker set of taillights that would be placed right below a chrome stripe that would run along the width of the boot.

Underpinning the next gen E Class will be the MRA (Mercedes Rear wheel Architecture). This is the same platform that also underpins the new C Class. The next gen E Class, which has been internally codenamed as the W213, is expected to be as much as 100kgs lighter than the current model.

Powering the W213 could be a new crop of Mercedes inline six engines. These engines will also be seen spawning smaller three and four cylinder motors in near future.

The next gen, 2016 Mercedes E Class, would make its public debut around the end of next year. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the upcoming 2015 Mercedes E Class.
