We reported in detail when the new Land Rover Ranger Rover Sport was recently unveiled with great pomp and show. The latest generation of the Range Rover Sport is leagues ahead of the car it replaces and can easily be termed as a smaller and more dynamic version of the Range Rover.
Seen here are a few spy pics of a new variant of the recently launched 2014 Range Rover Sport. While the Tata group owned British car maker has launched the new second generation of the 2014 Range Rover Sport, these spy pics have good probability of being of the test mules of a higher performance version of the Range Rover Sport.
These test mules were seen near the Nürburgring, thus adding more weight to the claim of these being pics of a sportier version of the Range Rover Sport. The new upcoming performance oriented version of the Sport would come with a reworked front fascia that would have larger air inlets. The car would also come with a more powerful engine that would have as much as 510 horsepower on tap. The upcoming variant would be christened as the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport R.
The 2014 Range Rover Sport has already won a lot of accolades for being a definite upgrade over the last generation Sport. The car not just benefits from being as much as 800 pounds lighter but also has more powerful and efficient engine along with being better equipped with creature comforts.
The upcoming variant, as said earlier, would have 510 bhp of peak power and would have a supercharged 5.0-liter V8, engine that would enable the car in being among the most powerful SUVs on sale today.
