German automaker giant Volkswagen has unveiled the new VW iBeetle at the ongoing Auto Shanghai 2013.  As is obvious from the name, the iBeetle is the result of a tie up between Volkswagen and Apple. Apple and VW worked together to develop a new iphone interface for the Beetle.

With this, the iBeetle becomes the first VW car to have an integrated iPhone component. The new interface that the car comes with can be used either as an integrated feature or as an application on iBeetle. The iBeetle will go on sale in 2014 and will be available in both coupe and convertible body variants.

The docking station enables the driver to use iPhone functions on the move. The app can be connected to the phone either wirelessly or with the docking station.

Styling changes include 18-inch alloy wheels painted in Galvano Grey and equipped with chrome wheel covers, Galveno Grey coloured accents for steering wheel and the dashboard and sport seats. The car also gets “iBeetle” signature on the door sills and chrome badges on the front fender. The new iBeetle can be bought with any of the iPhone color schemes too.
