Volkswagen Beetle has been one of the most popular cars in the history of automobiles. The Bug, as it is fondly called, popularized the concept of ‘people’s car’ and played a key role in making Volkswagen an automotive giant that it today is. Decades after the original Beetle, Volkswagen came up with a ‘retro-styled’ New Beetle as a lifestyle offering. In its second generation, the New Beetle was seen at the Delhi Auto Expo that was held earlier this year. Now, the German car maker is all set to unveil the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.
Spy pics of the new car have emerged on the cyber space and the car definitely looks better than the existing 2013 Beetle Convertible. The powerplant of the new car is the same as that in the hard top- a 200HP 2.5-Litre In-line Five.
