Is the Furia Concept the 2014 Toyota Corolla?

Prior to the NAIAS 2013, we had featured the Toyota Furia concept teased by Toyota in their video and were pretty convinced of the Furia being a next-gen road going sedan than a forthcoming sportster. And rightly so, the Furia concept finally unveiled at Detroit 2013 fabricates the mould for the next generation 2014 Toyota Corolla.

Concepts are known to adorn loads of glamour quotient, but the production versions when released are miles apart from the former. But if Toyota could manage to retain major of the lines from the Furia concept, it should be able to fend off its rivals- the Honda Civic and the Hyundai Elantra that have been eating into the international sales of the Corolla majorly when it comes to the style factor.

“The Corolla Furia Concept is an early indicator of where our compact car design may lead in the future,” Toyota  group vice president and general manager Bill Fay said. “It blends a heightened emphasis on dramatic design and modern elements of high technology to generate curb appeal that will surprise a lot of people.”

The Corolla has been Toyota’s best seller for over 4 decades and a design boost would definitely reflect in their cash registers.
