The Royal Enfield Rider Mania recently concluded at the Vagator Hilltop in Goa after an action packed weekend. Thousands of Royal Enfield riders gathered from across the country with their fellow rider friends making Rider Mania 2014 edition, the biggest ever with more than 5000 participants.
Speaking about the event, Sachin Chavan, Head-Rides & Community Royal Enfield said, “Rider Mania has come to symbolize the motorcycling culture in the country. Every year, we see more people taking up motorcycling in their own cities and riding down to Goa for Rider Mania to experience the camaraderie among people that share a common passion for the Royal Enfield way of motorcycling at its purest. The attendance at this festival has grown over the years, 2014 saw over 5000 participants converging from across India, spending three days of music, mirth and odd riding skills.”
The Dirt Trackrace event saw participants turning up in their special race-tuned motorcycles to slug it out on a dusty, uneven race track. In the 500cc category, noted British motorcycle racer Guy Martin won the race riding a Bullet 500. In the 350cc category, Rohan Patil won the event. In the Dirt Track ladies category race, Urvashi Patole won the event. In the Trials event, Mr. Sayam emerged the winner.
Rider Mania is also a platform where custom motorcycle studios showcase their passion for motorcycling through art. Every year, custom motorcycle designers build exclusive machines and preview them at Rider Mania. For the custom bikes, awards are based on 2 categories – Best Custom Bike (Judges Category) and the Most Popular category (maximum number of votes received). This year the winner of the Best Custom Bike went to Gunner 540 from Bulleteer Customs and the Most Popular Custom Bike went to Squadron from Road Rage Customs.
Speaking at the Long Distance Riders Forum, Jonathan Gibson said, “This is my first time at the Royal Enfield Rider Mania and it is truly a fitting stopover in my motorcycling journey from Sydney to London. It is great to see the unity, enthusiasm and the passion among the Royal Enfield motorcycling fraternity and events like these strengthen the bond between riders and promote the motorcycling culture. Rider Mania is a great platform for us riders to share our experiences and interesting stories that we have while riding across the globe and we also encourage others to do so as well.”
Rider Mania 2014 also witnessed a lively performance from popular fusion band Swarathma and Nucleya. The participants at Rider Mania this year were also treated to enthralling performances by noted artists like Vir Das & Alien Chutney, Papon & East India Company, DJ Pearl to name a few. Rider Mania is a three-day motorcyclingextravaganza organized by Royal Enfield annually in Goa. The motorcycle festival features activities and entertainment that in addition to promoting leisure riding provides the perfect platform to bond over motorcycling and the love for Royal Enfields.
