Thanks to Fiat India revealing its future plans recently, it has now become sure that the Jeep is headed our way. One of the first Jeep products to come to us will be the Grand Cherokee SUV.
Now, the current Grand Cherokee has been in business since a few years now and Fiat is busy developing the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that, in all probability, will be unveiled towards the end of this year.
As can be made out from the pics here, the 2014 model Grand Cherokee sports a new pair of headlamps which get the quintessential DRL treatment. The 2014 model also comes with other minor revisions to the front fascia. Other changes include a revised tailgate and some other new tidbits.
On the inside, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets the UConnect touchscreen infotainment system and an upholstery change.
Powering the updated car will be the same set of engines, albeit, in a new state of tune. This means that the 2014 Grand Cherokee will come with the option of a 3.6 litre V6, 5.4 litre HEMI V8 and the 6.4 litre HEMI SRT V8 for its home market. Diesel engines on offer will be 190bhp and 250bhp V6 units sourced from VM Motori.
The engines will come mated to an all new 8-speed gearbox with paddle shifters
