Our first impression is same as yours- the 2014 Ford Focus Facelift mimics the Aston Martins to some extent- particularly the grill. But then that is where the similarity ends! The mean looking 2014 Ford Focus Facelift adopts the new design philosophy from Ford’s headquarters as long as the front looks are concerned. Unfortunately there aren’t many changes to boast about. But the new Focus does include a new set of headlights and front bumper with minimal touches to the rear bumper and lights.
Changes have been made to the interior too, though not much. The centre console has been redesigned and the button clutter looks a lot less compared to the earlier model. The steering wheel looks similar and so do the controls on the wheel.
The 2014 Ford Focus Facelift will be showcased at the 84th Geneva Motor Show starting 6th March 2014. Propelling the new facelifted Ford Focus would be the same engine as the previous gen models, but we’re expecting the manufacturer to plonk in a 1.5 litre Ecoboost petrol and a diesel motor in similar capacity.
Also a plug-in variant is being speculated to take on the Nissan Leaf and the upcoming VW e-Golf. If that wasn’t enough, there is also a Ford Focus ST variant which is slated to boast of more aggressive styling with a revised steering and suspension setup for sharper handling. The engine though would be the same 2 litre Ecoboost pumping out a max of 247 bhp. With these changes, the Focus ST would be trying hard to make the VW Golf GTI sweat a bit more.
