The Chevrolet Malibu facelift is slated for launch a little more than 18 months after the car was introduced in to the market. The Malibu facelift will sport a new fascia that might carry design cues from the recently introduced Traverse.

Also being expected are slightly updated interiors that would come with higher-quality materials and new features. The rear seat too will get a lot of attention for much better ergonomics.

The Malibu hasn’t been successful in getting the better of the Hyundai Sonata and the Ford Fusion and Chevy hopes to change all this with the updated car.

Powering the car will be the same 197-hp, 2.5-liter four pot motor with a 259-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four pot reserved for the flagship variant.

The new Malibu will be launched in fall 2013 with a negligible increase in the prices.
