Ingolstadt based German premium car maker Audi has showcased the new 2014 Audi SQ5 3.0 TFSI at the ongoing Detroit Motor Show. The US Spec Audi SQ5, as opposed to the 3.0 litre TDi powered Euro-spec SQ5, is powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 petrol engine.

The V6 motor in Audi SQ5 pumps out a good 354hp-347lb-ft power-torque figure and enables the crossover to have a 0 to 62 mph run in 5.3 seconds, with the electronically governed top whack being of 155 mph. Audi claims a fuel economy of 21 mpg in combined cycle.

Mated to the V6 is a ZF eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and power is transmitted to all four wheels.

The SQ5 gets a suspension lowered by 1.2 inches and equipped with stiffer springs. The car rides on 20” mags wearing 255/45 tire.

Visual changes include a new grille, SQ5 badges on front brake callipers, aluminum-like mirror housings and two new paint shades: Panther Black and Estoril Blue. T

  1. The 3 litre diesel is what made the SQ5 special. In US spec it's just another pumped up SUV…what a shame!
