It has been confirmed that Indian auto maker Force Motors will launch the Trax Gurkha refresh on February 15.
Force Trax Gurkha test mules have been spotted in Pune on numerous occasions and Gurkha facelift will cater to the passenger vehicle market.
The Trax Gurkha facelift will continue to benefit from the Mercedes-Benz technology and will get styling updates like new headlights and alloy wheels.
It is being said that the new Gurkha will come with the Force One SUV’s 2.2-litre FMTech engine that has a max power output of 142PS and peak torque figure of 321Nm. The engine will be mated to a 5 speed manual ‘box which will transmit power to all four wheels.
However, chances are slim that the new Trax Gurkha will get ABS or Airbags before the One SUV.
It is being estimated that the Trax Gurkha will go on sale with a price tag of INR 7.5 lakhs and the updated Gurkha will be an ‘indirect competitor’ of the Mahindra Thar.
A not so apparent but an important change that is being expected to come with the updated Gurkha is the usage of better quality of materials and improved ownership experience with the introduction of new Force Motors dealerships and service centres across the country.
