What you are seeing here are the first official pictures and video of the 2012 Audi A6. While there is nothing too radically different from the outgoing version in terms of design except for those evil-eyes A7 derived headlamps, the A6 still remains elegant and won’t raise any brows.
The new car is in overall length but has a longer wheelbase at 2910mm. It rides on 16 inch wheels, has LED taillights, features a trunk spoiler, twin exhausts and a option LED headlamps. For those who want a sportier version (gawd!) the S-Line package offers more aggressive bumpers, tauter suspension, 19inch wheels and a fake rear diffuser.
Automatic climate control, MMI, 6.5-inch monitor, and “micrometallic platinum” trim come as standard on the inside. A super sounding bang & Olufsen ausi unit can be had as an option.
Other tech wizardry includes cruise control, lane assist, parking assist (for parallel parking), side assist (detects vehicles in blind spots), and night vision assist with pedestrian detection.
Engine include a 2.0 TDI with over 20kmpl, 177 PS and 380 Nm. Then you have a 3.0 TDI V6 produces with 204 horses and 400 Nm of torque. Not bad, for a consumption of a little under 20kmpl.
But if you think that power from a V6 engine is not enough, you have another option. This version of the 3.0 TDI V6 gives 245 PS and 500 Nm. Efficiency rated at 16.6kmpl.
Then you have the petrol. Yeah, for the Americans! 2.8 FSI V6 produces 204 PS, and then there is the gas-thirsty 3.0 TFSI V6 dishing out 300 PS and 440 Nm of torque. 0-100 comes in under 5.5 seconds with this one. , and rated fuel efficiency goes down to 12kmpl.
Transmission choices come in the form of a six-speed manual, the multitronic CVT, and the seven-speed S tronic. The car will go on sale early-mid 2011 in India.
