The Endeavour is the American car maker's flagship vehicle in the SUV segment for the Indian market. This vehicle is Ford's answer to the ever popular Toyota fortuner. The Endeavour is big, imposing and a masculine looking SUV which is capable and grabs a lot of attention on the road
The Ford Endeavour is a gigantic SUV, it looks imposing and commands a lot of road presence. The new Endeavour gets a new front grille, a redesigned front bumper and sits on new and updated 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear hasn't changed much and the Endeavour still retains the beautiful, wrap around tail lamps and chrome Endeavour badging. The SUV looks very muscular from the sides thanks to the footboard and massive wheel arches. On the roof, the endeavour gets a huge, electronically operated Panoramic sunroof which makes the cabin airier. Overall the Ford Endeavour is a good looking SUV and gives tough competition to its Rivals.
The new Ford Endeavour gets a dual tone black and beige interior and beige leather upholstery which makes the car look and feel very upmarket. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest sync 3 interface and is both Android auto and Apple carplay compatible. This system also gets Ford's voice recognition functionality. The Endeavour now finally gets a push-button start and keyless entry. The gauge cluster is now semi-digital and gets 2 MID displays which can be toggled from the steering wheel which also houses the audio controls as well.
The Ford endeavour gets a large 430l trunk with the 3rd-row seats up. This can be extended to 1050l by dropping the 3rd row of seats. The SUV can seat 7 people overall and there is a decent amount of space for 2 adults in the 3rd row for short to medium journeys.
Ford has equipped the Endeavour with tons of safety equipment. It gets 6 airbags as standard and the titanium+ trim gets 7 airbags. Other safety features include reverse parking sensors and camera with guidelines, traction control, rollover mitigation, hill launch assist, hill descent assist and parallel park assist.
The Ford Endeavour is offered with 2 engine options. The first is a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged Diesel which pushes out 162 PS at 3200rpm and 385 Nm of torque between 1600rpm-2500rpm. It is mated to a 6 speed automatic or a manual gearbox and is available in 2WD mode only. The other motor is a 3.2-litre, turbocharged, 5-cylinder unit which is good for 200 PS of maximum power at 3000rpm and a massive 470nm of torque between 1750rpm-2500rpm. This motor is paired with a 4WD system that is governed by Ford's Terrain Management system. It is paired with an electronic rear locking differential, four terrain modes and low gear selector.
In its 4WD guise, The Ford Endeavour is quite capable off the road and can wade through 800mm of water, has an approach, departure and break over angle of 30, 25 and 21 degrees respectively. This particular Ford is also the best vehicle in its class when it comes to on-road dynamics and is unbeatable still when it comes to the ride and handling department. Coming to the efficiency Ford claims 14.2km for the 2.2l manual and 12.62 for the automatic which is pretty decent for a car of this size. But the 3.2l isn't the most fuel efficient motor and returns 10.91 kilometres to a litre. In terms of capacity, all variants are fitted with an 80-litre fuel tank.
