Latest spy picture: Hyundai Verna!

The latest version of the Hyundai Verna/Accent is reportedly sitting with its eye locked on to the ticking clock as it is expected to be displayed soon in the Beijing Motor Show where it will be unveiled. The picture above is the latest spy picture of the car and there is a chance that this car will make its way to the Indian streets. The new picture does not reveal anything new as compared to what was revealed earlier. However, the picture does add a confirmation note to the earlier pictures which indicates that ‘something is happening around in Hyundai’. When one may look at the picture, the first thought that might pop up into the mind would be that of a cross between the Avante and the next generation Sonata.

The car may be launched by the end of next year. There are speculations that the car will be powered by a 1.6-liter and 1.5-liter petrol engine. The engine is expected to be built at Hyundai’s Chennai manufacturing unit and will be a tough contender to the Honda City, provided the engine specs turn out to be true. There are high chances that the engineering under the vehicle would be an exact copy of the Hyundai i20. However, there are no confirmations for the same.

The car may not be an exact carbon copy of the one in the picture when it makes its way to the Indian streets as it may subject certain changes to suit the Indian conditions. The car will be reportedly tweaked before it goes to sale in the US market as well. The 1.6-liter GDi engine that manages a maximum power output of 140 bhp could be the heart of the RB which is now most popularly also known as ‘mini Sonata’. However, according to various sources, the firm is also working on a hybrid powertrain. Commenting any more about the upcoming car would be unwise, so lets just wait for the official pictures and confirmation from Hyundai.
