Globally, the Audi SQ5 is available with a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 diesel motor and a 3.0-litre TFSI petrol motor. Considering the love for diesels in our market, Audi India is likely to showcase the V6 diesel equipped SQ5 at the Auto Expo.

The 3.0 liter twin-turbo block churns out 317 PS of max power and a whopping 650 Nm of torque and is mated to an 8 speed tiptronic transmission. The 70 PS bump in power over the normal 3.0 liter TDI motor is achieved by increasing cooling of the cylinder heads and changing the control times and strokes of the intake camshafts and also the pistons have been adapted for the higher performance. The 317 PS of power in combination with the insane torque help the car in dismissing the 0-100 kmph mark in a just 5.1 seconds. The car keeps on acclerating upto its electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. These are awesome performance figures for a SUV.

The 3.0 liter TFSI petrol engine is good for 354 hp. This engine too comes mated to an 8 speed tiptronic transmission. This engine also helps the car in dismissing the 0-100 kmph mark in 5.1 seconds, with a top whack of 250 kmph.

The Audi SQ5 sits 30 mm lower than the normal Q5 and is eqipped with stiffer springs and dampers. The car is shod with 255/45 tires fitted to 20 inch wheels. Power is sent to all the four wheels.

With the Porsche Macan making its way into India soon, the performance SUV segment will heat up like never before. What do you think ? Should Audi India launch the SQ5 in the Indian market ? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
