We reported in detail when the Suzuki Hustler was showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this year. Now, the mini SUV has been launched in Japanese car market and the deliveries for this mini SUV, which qualifies for ‘kei’ car benefits, commence on January 8, 2014.
Powering the Hustler is a 660cc, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces a max power of 52 PS@6,000 rpm and peak torque of 63 Nm @4,000 rpm. For the entry level variants, the engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The higher variants get a CVT. The mini SUV is on sale in both 2WD and 4WD vairants. The Hustler is on sale for a starting price of 1.048 million Yen (approx INR 6.2 lakhs).
The Hustler will also get a turbocharged variant, which will take the power output to 64 PS and torque to 95 Nm. The Turbo’ed variant will have a CVT ‘box and will have a starting price of 1.295 million Yen.
The new Suzuki Hustler can be bought in any of the 11 exterior paint options.
