The new Hyosung GD250N-EXIV, which was displayed at the 2013 EICMA last month, could be targeted at the KTM 200 Duke in European market. However, the bigger news here is that the latest Hyosung would be priced below the smaller 125 Duke!

The Hyosung GD250N-EXIV will go on sale in Europe in January next year and is expected to have a starting price of 2,999 euros (approx INR 2.5 lakhs). At this price, the GD250N-EXIV will be considerably cheaper than the Duke 125, which costs 4,245 euros (INR 3.59 lakhs) in Europe.

Powering the new Hyosung GD250 is a new single pot 249cc motor that benefits from an electronic fuel injection system. Power output hasn’t yet been revealed but we expect the motor to belt out close to 30PS. Peak torque would be close to 24 Nm and the engine comes attached to a six speed manual transmission.

The new Hyosung GD250N-EXIV comes equipped with a 300 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc brake setup. At the front, the bike gets 37 mm Kayaba forks, while the rear has been bestowed with adjustable springs. The GD250, at 145 kgs (estimated), is considerably heavier than the Duke.
